Pros

I love the 2 direct managers I had during my time at Qt, as well as my team. I learned so much from them, especially starting at Qt early in my career. A lot of the colleagues I worked with on a day to day basis are also amazing people.

Cons

This company had issues when I joined, and things have exponentially deteriorated since. Upper management is the most disorganized and toxic I've encountered. Revenue targets are set unrealistically high, and when they're inevitably missed, major changes are made far too quickly, and then the cycle repeats annually. This constant cycle makes it nearly impossible for employees to feel settled or actually focus on their work. Employees consistently lack the tools, support, and guidance needed to succeed. When these gaps are raised, feedback goes unheard or is dismissed as too costly, yet leadership acts surprised when goals aren't met. There is no growth potential here. HR developed a career matrix a few years ago, but in practice it means nothing. After a year of consistently meeting the competencies for the next level, as agreed with by my direct manager, I was passed over for promotion my last cycle here despite being a four-year employee. It was a huge slap in the face. In general at Qt, HR was largely unsupportive and, at times, actively combative. In reality, working at Qt is about 90% navigating internal dysfunction and politics, and 10% doing actual work. I'll genuinely miss my immediate team and several colleagues, but absolutely nothing else about this company.

Pros

A free-spirited atmosphere, great colleagues, and zero micromanagement as long as you do your job well.

Cons

The product portfolio is ill-equipped for the AI era. No one—not even headquarters executives—understands what synergies the recent M&As will yield. The future remains opaque, as there is no visible synergy between existing Qt products and the verified product lines.
