Pros

- Very talented team - Team is genuinely passionate about & invested in the project as a whole - Flexible work hours

Cons

- Critical information is withheld from the team until the community finds out. Leadership constantly flip flops between keeping deadlines hidden & posting them publicly - Unnecessary, stressful crunch for arbitrary goals that do not contribute to the project in a meaningful way. This is a byproduct of mismanagement and an overwhelming unwillingness to take/accept constructive feedback. Most of the time, management works on unrelated prototypes/get distracted by facets of the project that (ironically) contribute nothing to the goals team members are pressured to crunch for. - Leadership has their head in the clouds and they are not fit for their positions. There is no formula for the way tasks are delegated or handled, and the one-sided accountability alienates the team while refusing to take the blame themselves--it's always someone else's fault. - Leadership discourages communication between themselves and the rest of the team by simply not responding or ignoring messages, even when they're time sensitive or require feedback for the progression of the project. - There is no communication between departments -- again, leadership does not seem to value transparency or communication, even when it's vital to the progression of the project. - Leadership gossiping. They placed blame on past team members publicly, very rarely making an attempt to conceal their identities. This juvenile behavior was put on gross display for the community. If you tried to bring it up as a current team member, it was brushed off. - CEO makes the rules, but won't play by them. He seems to think he's immune and his lack of attention, time management, and sensitivity makes working under him that much worse. It's difficult to stay focused and positive when his behavior actively discourages it.

Pros

Great flexibility, tons of learning opportunities, no office politics (and if so, that eventually gets shut down). Management has no problems letting people go if they don't contribute and just cause problems with their behavior. No favoritism, anyone can be heard here without worry of subtle or outright backlash. I've had a lot of different jobs, and bosses, and upper management and it is usually just a snake pit one way or another. This is the first place in very very long time where I don't have to worry about that stuff anymore.

Cons

Can get hectic and feel unorganized at times, but Nik does listen, and is willing to try things out to make things better for everyone. It is a work in progress and has been getting better over time.

Pros

Excellent PTO policy, great coworkers, well delegated, immense passion from the whole team.

Cons

Morale can be easily swayed by public opinion, lack of community management leaves developers to engage personally.
