Pros

Great Cafe, nice office location

Cons

Company is struggling in terms of pushing its limited product set, not allowed to cross sell product range which limits what you can propose to clients. Lack of direction from senior management how to push products into new customers and lack of ideas in marketing department, people seem to enjoy pool game more than being on phone and getting new clients.

Thank you for your comments. We were surprised to read that you thought Purdicom is going downhill but we welcome your thoughts and are extremely grateful to learn of areas where we can improve. In responding we would like to alleviate most of your fears. We are always looking for new vendors and products, in fact, we open up this up to all employees so that if they have any thoughts or suggestions they can put those ideas forward. However, over the past 12 months, we have had a huge focus on this and have taken on some exciting new products to enhance our already best of breed product set. We are also encouraging cross-selling of those products to all of the sales team and providing in-depth training to allow them to confidently and knowledgeably obtain new opportunities. We were naturally, surprised and disappointed to read your comment concerning the management team and marketing. We believe we have a great management team, who have steered this company in terms of both sales growth and more importantly profitability. We are highly rated by Plimsoll the leading Industry Marketing Analysis company, and we feature in the top Distributors in the company on numerous categories. Over the past couple of months, we have internally promoted one of our top account managers into a newly created Sales Manager role, his primary focus is to support, guide and mentor all of the sales team so that they can reach their full potential. Our marketing team is the strongest that we have had here at Purdicom and we are thrilled to say that they have exceeded our expectations with their ideas, campaigns, events and focus on how they can support the sales teams and grow sales as well as the reputation of the business. As for our employees enjoying our personalised Purdicom pool table, this is something that we will never stop to encourage. We believe our employees are our best assets and without them, we would not be where we are today. So with that in mind, we will always strive to reward great performance by providing the best benefits and working environment that we can, thereby enhance the working day as much as possible. We like to pride ourselves on having an open-door policy here at Purdicom and an HR department who is always there for all employees who have any worries or concerns, so if you are still feeling disheartened please don’t hesitate to pop up and see them they would welcome the visit.

Pros

A genuine brilliant tech team..

Cons

My experience at this company was very challenging, largely due to the culture on the sales floor and aspects of the business operations. During my time there, I experienced behaviour that I perceived as bullying, including repeated comments and nicknames relating to my weight. This created a working environment that I found uncomfortable and distressing. I also observed behaviour that I considered unprofessional, including negative discussions about women and a lack of mutual respect in parts of the team. From my perspective, these issues were not addressed in a way that resolved my concerns, which contributed to a culture where such behaviour continued. Communication from leadership often felt focused on general morale rather than addressing issues in a manner I found constructive. From a commercial perspective, I personally felt that certain elements of the business model presented challenges in the market at the time. Some approaches to distribution and deal structures did not appear to be evolving, which, in my view, could impact long-term sustainability. There were positive aspects. The company provided basic facilities such as a canteen, and I worked alongside a small number of supportive and professional colleagues. Overall, based on my experience, I found the environment to be pressurised and, at times, lacking in professionalism and respect. I would not recommend this workplace to those seeking a supportive and inclusive culture.
