Pros

decent salary, bonus can be good if you hit the right numbers

Cons

You are expected to be on-call 24/7 and break-ins and emergencies can happen 24/7. Even when officially on vacation, you better be on top of an emergency before your boss hears about it. A day off is not a day off because properties WILL call you, and you better answer. Property Managers are not empowered to make any decisions, so they will call you multiple times per day. The scripts change every month and you must memorize them word-for-word, then waste time making sure your entire district knows these scripts by heart. PS focuses on idiotic things like calling customers 7-10 times a month for rent payment, even if a 3 year history clearly shows this customer pays on the last day of the month, every month. You still better have 7-10 document phone calls to harass this customer. PS wastes so much energy on petty things that in no way improve the business and then the things that need attention don't get done. Also, you NEVER have an adequate budget for the maintenance required. So many emergencies happen and you HAVE to get that stuff fixed, so you can never keep up on maintaining properties. Every DM I ever knew had thousands and thousands of unpaid bills each month due to this problem. MANY companies make PS pay cash only due to a history of not paying their bills on time. The whole management chain is messed up and it's a never ending cycle. Your best bet is ANY other storage company-- the turn-over here in incredible.

Pros

Public Storage is a great place to work and grow your career. I’m surrounded by talented leaders who are supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in developing their teams. The company has a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, which creates an environment where employees can succeed and make an impact. What excites me most is that Public Storage is in a significant growth phase. It’s an energizing time to be part of the organization, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful initiatives, take on new challenges, and help shape the future of the business. The company continues to invest in its people, processes, and growth strategy, making it an excellent place for those who are looking to develop professionally while being part of a winning team. If you’re looking for a company with strong leadership, career advancement opportunities, and a clear vision for the future, Public Storage is a fantastic place to be.

Cons

Cons: As Public Storage continues to grow, the pace of the business can be very fast. There are often multiple initiatives, priorities, and opportunities happening simultaneously, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly. Success in this environment depends on being able to effectively prioritize, manage competing demands, and stay focused on the highest-impact work. While the pace can be challenging at times, it also creates tremendous opportunities for growth, learning, and career development.

Pros

Benefits, ability to move your body if you like a workout.

Cons

Training is terrible, the trainers do not care about your ability to perform. In training we are told to contact the trainers throughout the workday to ask questions and provide guidance for work flow. One of the trainers talks down to me, doesn’t call me back and has openly told me on call “is this an emergency?” I stated no and she hung up. Unprofessional. The other trainer has completed 6 weeks of coaching through our academy and not once called me or in person coached me on anything listed throughout the coaching. Many people have quit in the short time I’ve been here.
