Pros
Driven by a mission, Providence does its best to help every patient regardless of their circumstances. Most of the clinicians care about others and treat patients well.
Cons
Management has shifted its focus from the "non profit service attitude" when run by the Sisters of Providence, a Catholic order of women. Now run by MBA's and Corporate Executives who are compensated very well while admin continues to squeeze employees to do more with less. Thankfully, nurses have our union and increasingly other disiplines are organizing and joining the ONA (Oregon Nurses Association). We recently had a 5 day strike and administrators are still slow to return to the table with meaningful compromises. Have been working w/o a contract since the beginning of 2023.
