Pros

Protiviti's people are very smart and continually impress me. They are always pushing the envelope and not satisfied with ordinary. We're not in a cookie-cutter culture where everyone is encouraged or pressured to me the same (and boring). I have found the personalities to be very independent but social and fun. I think it boils down to confidence. Our people don't need their hands held - they can go for it a bit more than people can at the larger firms. We're entrepreneurial and it works for us. We attract people who want to color outside the lines. And our leadership is incredibly open to new ideas. They value our people and genuinely care about them. I've seen them go out of their way to be available to colleagues at all levels. They are approachable, personable and honest. Think about if you'd rather be a medium/big fish in a small pond, or a small fish in a big pond...Protiviti is the medium/big fish in a small pond because of the level of trust and responsibility given to their people.

Cons

Hours can be long. But the flip side to that is I wouldn't do it if I didn't find satisfaction in it.

Pros

Good Culture, decent pay, not overworked too much.

Cons

Repetitive, meaningless, and boring work, hard to pivot out of this career once started. Also, the consulting career feels like such a fake job at times. Doesn't feel like real work. Makes you question your life decisions. I'd recommend any college grads to think about their future career goals first before joining. I joined on a whim and wish I spent more time interviewing. It's been incredibly difficult to pivot out of internal audit and sox compliance once you are in it. However, if you are really good at corporate politics and advocating for yourself you may be able to pivot out of the IAFA solution . However, not sure how that lends it self if you want to leave the company.
