Pros

Manager of SCC station is awesome.

Cons

ProTransport-1 is a soul sucking company, that cares more about their bottom line than they do about the well being of their patients and their employees. The work you do here is braindead, I'll summarize it for you: Go to Stanford Hospital, pick up a perfectly stable patient, drop them off at home. Every day, of every month, of every year. This job does not challenge you, it does not advance your career. You will not gain any clinical experience working here. You will be a glorified taxi driver. How about they paycheck then, is it worth it? No. ProTransport-1 is a company that has been on the verge of bankruptcy for the past 5 years. Upper management does not care about you, they will openly steal from your paycheck, illegally refuse to pay according to your contract, and find any and every way to avoid paying you for the work you do. Do not work here, you will only waste your life like I did.

Pros

Working here you have a Union that’s pretty solid make sure you ask your union rep about all the benefits you qualify for. Stryker power pro gurneys are standard. You can always call for lift assist without stigma. A lot of calls that get dispatched with a lot of stairs or a heavy pt and few stairs will get you at least one lift assist crew. Management is responsive to complaints and takes feedback without consequence. Newish ford transit 250 most have seat heaters and good AC. It’s basically impossible to get fired from this company the things they will get you for is bad driving, attendance, and dishonesty/ theft but if you show up don’t speed, are on time and own your mistakes when you make them you have nothing to worry about - neurodivergent friendly especially on night shift

Cons

-Ferno stair chairs - no jump bag. I will die on this hill every ambulance should have a jump bag especially if you are night shift in San Francisco. Having to on the spot make a jump bag repeatedly really pissed me off. - not enough FTO time, this is an IFT company issue in general but sending kiddos out half baked and then being surprised when expensive mistakes are made.
