Pros

Many individuals at the company are mission-driven. There are some who are deeply passionate about their work, dedicating significant time and effort to make a meaningful impact. The interview process is generally straightforward, typically taking a few weeks to complete. The Learning and Development team is led by a strong leader who is committed to the quality and relevance of the content being produced. Work hours are generally flexible, but flexibility does vary by team. This can be a positive aspect for employees who need flexibility in their week.

Cons

The company places a strong emphasis on its values when you first join, but unfortunately, these values are not consistently reflected in day-to-day practices. There is a lack of alignment on how these values translate into actual work processes across teams, which creates confusion and inconsistency. Despite being a well-established company, there is a significant gap in resources and tools available to teams to perform their work efficiently. There is a lack of clear processes and defined roles across departments, and leadership alignment is often missing, making it difficult to establish effective processes or gain access to necessary tools. Additionally, much of the company's data and information is disorganized, which contributes to inconsistency in both quality and overall work output. The company truly struggles with creating a psychologically safe environment. Gossip, interpersonal grudges, and negative behaviors are common, and there is a noticeable power hierarchy that undermines collaboration and trust. There is a lack of meaningful progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion, which hampers innovation. Leaders frequently fail to listen to and implement feedback, further stifling diverse perspectives and ideas. This has contributed to an unhealthy workplace culture for many employees. There is minimal emphasis on feedback and personal development. Leadership often lacks the skills to provide constructive, growth-oriented feedback, which makes it difficult for employees to see a clear path for advancement. Many leaders operate with a fixed mindset, unable to see growth potential. While lateral movement may be possible, promotions and corresponding pay increases are rare and difficult to achieve. Leadership frequently fails to follow through on commitments. Tasks are often pushed off onto others, with little regard for clear expectations, timelines, or the support needed to complete them. This lack of accountability creates unnecessary confusion and inefficiencies within teams. Leaders often set unrealistic expectations for employees, and when concerns are raised, there is little guidance on how to adjust or meet these expectations. If targets are not met and employees are affected, there is little follow-up to align expectations moving forward, leaving employees without clarity on how to proceed.
