Pros

Company Model: -They promote from within, which makes you feel secure and guarantees that your hard work will pay off. -Apart from the base pay, you also make commission (it's not one or the other, it's both). This really gives you the opportunity to show you at your best and get rewarded for it. It was one of the reasons I took the job. Life Skills: -I had never thought about some of the skills that I have learned here, but now that I know them and am working to improve them, it's difficult to imagine how I got along without them! You will learn or improve your inter-personal relationships and gain new insight into how you present yourself and engage with customers effectively. People: -Friendly and eager to help. -Training was easy, and I was encouraged to ask questions all the time. Don't hesitate to ask or get clarification.

Cons

Sometimes the management brings in donuts and I don't own a treadmill.

Pros

1. Challenging and fun work environment 2. Lots of professional development and leadership opportunities 3. Gain a tons of direct sales and marketing experience 4. Flexible schedule and a guaranteed base-pay 5. Lots of bonuses, contests and other opportunities to make extra money 6. Paid business trips 7. You get to talk with a lot of people and don't have to sit behind a desk 8. Coached on how to network and build a professional network 9. Managment training offered 10. Performance-based promotional opportunities and pay rather than seniority (HUGE bonus for me based on my last job)

Cons

I really love working here and have gained so much hands on marketing, sales and managment experience so far. I am also about to be promoted and excited to take on more managment responsibility. When I finished my MBA I really wanted to work for a marketing company with Management Training offered and had a fun and challenging work environment. I found that with the Potomac Group. However this may not be a good environment for people who are not willing work hard and want an 'easy' 9-5 job. Especially in the beginning, you've got to work hard and apply yourself. So if someone is looking for a handout or a position to coast at there might be other companies that offer a better fit.
