Pros

Given the small opportunity to help better lives of families in the community, for as long as you're given.

Cons

The list for Con's is very long, but let me start out by expressing that the PPU pay scale is not fair, you only get paid for face to face time with your clients, you DO NOT get paid for mandatory monthly meetings, you DO NOT get paid mileage reimbursement, YOU DO not get paid for activities that you do with your clients, it's safe to say you DO NOT get paid for very much at PCMS. PCMS does not follow the principles and values that they have put in place by upper management, they are not loyal to the clients they serve. The list continues on and on...

Thank you for your time supporting our families here at Potomac Case Management. One of our goals is to remain competitive with our pay ranges and we work hard to continually find ways to improve compensation and benefits for all employees. We're happy to say that it has been some time since we moved away from the PPU (pay per unit) compensation model. Case Managers are paid an annual salary as well as overtime if they work over 40 hours a week. We also now have a bonus structure for visits made above the minimum expectation. This also means staff are paid for staff meetings & any time working with clients or working on administrative tasks to support a client's goals. We also have a reimbursement policy for approved activity expenditures. Thank you for your feedback; it always helps us improve.

Pros

Feels good working for a company that does work in the community that makes a measurable difference.

Cons

It's really hard. People only take this job if you really care about people and if you care about people, it's hard to see up close how they struggle. You can help and that's good but it's still hard.
