Pros
Flexible hours, management for the most part is really reasonable and fair. Also, most of those who work there are pleasant to work with.
The manager of the banquet office is very detailed about procedures and very patient. In this industry I find that to be a breath of fresh air being that so many times you are just thrown into situations and expected to sink or swim.
The pay for banquet servers is excellent as well. The base pay is $6 per hour but with gratuity added onto each event, each banquet server usually makes between $15 - $25 an hour. However, one does need to keep in mind that there are no health benefits if you are just a banquet server as this position is on call.
Cons
This job is very seasonable and therefore there can be long periods of time without work. Also, I have heard if you try to work in the restaurant to bridge the gaps, that it is very slow most of the time and not worth the time.
Also, if there is not much to do there is a particular member management who will act like you should be doing something even though it is very slow.
