Pros
The employees! Plex assembled the best of the best in many cases. Too bad the executive management team let those employees down.
Cons
• Organization is so top heavy. Full of many ex-Oracle types with huge egos that have made poor decision after poor decision. • The product is a good fit in only a few industries such as automotive and metal stamping. Amazing how it misses the mark in so many other areas. It seems that's almost impossible to say because the product is so complicated one would think it does everything. How about the product interface? It has to be worst interface of any cloud system on the planet!!!! They have been working on a new one for 4+ years but it still isn't close to being released. • Multi-Tenant Cloud deployment only. This seems like a good thing, but if you have FDA (can't validate versionless software) ITAR or DOD requirements, want to customize the software (can't even add a custom field to the database) you are out of luck with Plex. • Have spent millions on Marketing with little to show for it. Keep touting Google Glass case study over and over which generates little return on investment and almost no sales leads. For how much money they spend on marketing it would be hard to generate fewer leads! • Sales is a mess. Ex-Oracle types added way to many people, raised prices and tied the hands of the reps from making logical decision to close business. This has resulted in a decline in new subscriptions. Lots of layoffs of good proven reps has lowered morale very quickly. • Implementation/service. At over $200 per hour and a minimum of $125k for the most basic Plex implementation one should expect world class results. The true results are far from world class! Its a shame!
