Pros
There are some good people.
Cons
If you want to understand what Chinese style manufacturing looks like in the design world, just look at Place Design’s international team. The role is essentially a drafting machine — repetitive, uninspiring, and far beneath what someone with proper qualifications and education should be doing. There’s no design thinking, no collaboration across disciplines, no project variety, no events, and no standard design process.
The team is made up largely of Asian staff without Australian qualifications or experience, many of whom feel they have no other option. Most are afraid to push back or say “no” to management — a dynamic the white leadership seems to prefer. No locally trained landscape architect would willingly take this job.
