A decent place to work, was unionized, made some friends of fellow drivers and community contacts. - Bus Driver Petermann Employee Review

Pros

Co-workers and administration were mostly supportive. Training and trainers were mostly laid-back, knowledgeable, and excellent. I was satisfied with the union role and had no beef with them. If you don't like unions, find a job without one - they're out there.

Cons

The typical drivers are not too health conscious. When you understand the responsibility for safety it wears on you - carrying around the liability on your back can get heavy. I managed to not screw up but if you do, it is calamitous. Driving the big buses required hyper-vigilance for me.

Pros

No prior experience needed. They pay you during the training period. Weekends and holidays off. Health and dental insurance is offered. Wage increase every year. Prioritizes safety.

Cons

Each dispatch center is different in terms of environment and management. Have to work in bad weather. Not many chances to pick up extra hours. Short-staffed. There is 24/7 surveillance. Extremely strict cell phone rules.
