●Work-life balance
Work-life balance at Pella Corporation is terrible. Horrible scheduling/work hours. 1st shift gets 2 Saturdays off a month, where as 3rd gets 1. 3rd shift does NOT have a shift premium. Only upside to being on 3rd is a "40"hr work week. O.T. as needed is B.S. Will ALWAYS be scheduled for O.T. No work/home life balance. If on 3rd- you work 50 hrs. If on days- 48 hrs, plus Saturday O.T. Its almost as if you get punished for wanting to work days and try and have a life with the 1 day off, every other week. If there was a consistent schedule across all shifts, with a 2nd shift added, the production process would be much smoother.
● Pay & benefits
My pay and benefits at Pella Corporation are about the only good thing to working here. Raises are performance based. But they will only give you one pay increase at a time. No matter what extra things you do to help.
● Management
In general, managers at Pella Corporation The management is a JOKE. They don't care about employees or understand the manufacturing process. The management is only hired from outside, usually straight out of college. No experience in factories or fast paced work environments. After 90 years this company still has no idea how to efficiently build a window.
● Overall
My experience working at Pella Corporation is sub-par. Its one of the worst managed factory that I've worked in, and I have over a decade of factory experience. The forklift drivers are extremely unsafe as well. I've almost bee hit several times, along with other co-workers. There are only a small number of those that drive safely. There is also little to no job rotation throughout the factory.
