Pros

Had a great team to work with by a family owned company. It was nothing to run into the owner every so often when he came in from Italy, or to see most of the people on the office side and know them by name. Company picnics were always alot of fun each year to greet each others families. My manager was fantastic about working around my schedule so I could pursue full-time college.

Cons

As the economy swings, so does the mood of the company. Every so often there was a wave of tension and a little fear on who or how many may be let go due to downsizing. Our department sometimes let people go only to replace them with temps for lower pay and saving on benefits.

Pros

Supervisors great to work for. Co-workers like family and because its a smaller family owned business (owner Lucio always friendly when he came to the states)--made a work/life balance manageable.

Cons

When economy hit, it hit the company hard. Several departments got deep cuts. It seemed like maybe the company was clueless to see it coming because it really surprised everyone when it happened; we only had days before the layoffs started when we were notified. But they laid off the customer service department big time and then turned around and rehired temps. Felt like a stab in the back when that happened. I would have taken a "pay-cut" to keep my job.
