Pros

Great income, hourly pay is good commission are high. Residential Hvac service technicians make 70,000 to 100,000 yearly.

Cons

Forced to sell entire systems due to capacitor, failure and compressor thermal overload. If you don't average 600$ ticket you are questioned directly after the call. All of The 15+ year management quit at the same time. This included the 30yr service manager and a wealth of business and service know how.

Pros

- Meritocracy: if you've worked at enough places and are smart about your career, you know how refreshing it is to have clear guidelines and performance expectations. - Market Dominance: Very old household name which makes the phone ring. The bigger they get, the more natural distrust customers may have of the "Big Guy", but it's the employees who make all the difference in the world and help make things happen.

Cons

- Rigid: do what you're told and don't speak unless you're spoken to. - If you're asked for an opinion, its to further the convictions or philosophy of the owners; the key contributing employees, the ones that make the real difference, ultimately get beaten down into becoming yes-men. - Very profitable company, however getting them to compensate you (genuine compensation, no special favors) per your performance at industry averages is like trying to get water out of a rock.
