Pros
- Very consistent work schedule throughout the week. - Repetitive jobs that you can perfect and get very good at - Management is looking to improve and doesn't just treat you like peons - Consistency, even if the market changes, people will always need boxes. Basically recession proof job.
Cons
- Pay is still lower than the area average for industrial work. Gallo still pays operators above 30$/hr, which is right down the road. Tesla in Lathrop also pays more atm. Basically everywhere else pays more. - Theres lots of mandatory overtime, especially for operators. Assistants aren't trusted to clock up so you basically have to pick up slack anytime anyone is off. - There is also a lot of pressure to achieve unreachable goals. Sometimes 6 days a week. Hard to plan for your days off because you can arbitrarily be thrown into a weekend shift and have to cancel your plans. - Doesn't seem like theres much mobility after you hit Operator your income is basically capped for a really long time. It takes after 10 years you will get a 10% increase and thats it. - Factory is deadly hot in the summer. Especially the Modesto location. If you're working 2nd shift in the summer you will sweat like a pig all day.
