Pros
I don't know what these guys are going on about. I've been with ppg 7 months and that's all I do is work overtime. They must be company employees, my plant is also a union plant, they may have something to do with it. Job pays weekly. It's definitely not a hard job, everything can be picked up on easily. Company actually tells you to take your time, don't make mists, if you're unsure stop and ask. They'd rather it be done right than rushed.
Cons
13-1 schedule. I work 13 days straight and get 1 day off. I'm also working a lot of 12 hour days. Implementing a new inventory tracking system. They're saying we might not get any days off. You are just a number, upper management refuses to listen to reason, they have that piece of paper so they're smarter than you are, even though they're entirely clueless. Weak company relations. Plant manager rarely talks to employees, things in need of attention rarely make it up the chain. Pay is also low, you're in direct contact with carcinogens, asbestos, solevants, catalysts that'll eat your skin off...at least give me a chemical workers pay.
