Pros
Long time employees make the job enjoyable. Free lunch during “mega events” Decent insurance. Can’t really think of anything else.
Cons
-Constant management changes -Bringing in new employees to replace old employees at lower rates -lots of gender discrimination -product changes that change characteristics of the product and cause massive customer issues. -poor bonus structure. We make them millions and they might give us a couple hundred dollars a year. -outdated stores -you are the handy man. If anything breaks you will have to go to home depot in your personal car and get materials to fix most issues. -unrealistic safety equipment. -outdated and constantly crashing POS -always short on delivery drivers causing customer complaints and rescheduled delivery’s - the pos system essentially DOS with a GUI. It’s a joke. -120+ ° warehouse in the summer and 30° warehouse in the winter. -poor employee safety. We had a forklift that lost a wheel and could still be moved although it was on a tilt we where told only go up to the second level. They had no concern of the forklift tipping over and injuring someone. There was also a period of about 2 months that the forklift smoked heavily when in use and parts where back ordered. We asked to rent one and they said no it would cost too much. Again we are talking about a successful store with over 2 million in profits annually. -no 401k matching unless you are upper management.
