Pros

1. Competitive salary offer 2. Decent medical benefits 3. Provided work phone and laptop 4. Good place to be if you're a fresh graduate looking for opportunities.

Cons

1. The organization favours permanent employees in terms of benefits given (salary adjustment, yearly increase, medical benefits, other benefits) but the workload is the same for everyone no matter what position you're in. 2. No clear criteria or direction for contract employees to be absorbed to permanent posts, year after year promising "good things will come" but nothing has come into fruition. Salary increase for contract employees only happens after the end of the contract period, so, in the long run, it makes more sense to be elsewhere for salary progression. 3. The management somewhat has this impression that they are not famous as they are trying too hard to be as popular as EPF or IRB. 4. Ridiculous work expectation with no privacy or personal time after normal working hours as they expect employees to be on their phone to answer anyone's call no matter the time. If not, expect warning letters to be issued to you. 5. The "customer is always right" principle, no matter how wrong the customer is, they are always right. 6. No clear career progression. Leaders and successors are only selected among the Pegawai Tadbir category.

Pros

Working at Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) provides valuable exposure in public service and social protection programs. The job allows staff to directly assist the community, which gives strong job satisfaction. Colleagues are supportive and teamwork culture is generally positive. Annual bonus is good.

Cons

Career progression can be challenging, especially for contract staff, where opportunities for permanent placement are limited despite long service and performance. Workload may be heavy depending on department, and staff feedback or requests are sometimes not fully addressed by HR, which can affect morale and motivation. Salary increment for contract staffs are slow.
