Pros
You can work from home depending on the project.
Good employee benefits, flexibility in working hours, coffee for free.
Cons
Lure people with promises of hiring permanently just to resolve technical issues at clients. I was at the end of a 6 months contract for a very large Montreal based company. I applied for the job on a job board on the internet and after 5 days I was hired. They told me they were looking to fill a full time permanent position that was vacant because the former employee left the company. During the contract I did my job very well hoping I was going to be considered for this permanent position. But that never happened because after I resolved many problems with the leftovers from the previous employee and everything was OK, they sent me a message by e-mail that they will not hire anyone for the position at this time. No reasons given. They didn't even have the guts to say it to my face even though I had many discussions with my superior about the hiring proceedings. Further more, after this message was received on the company's e-mail address, they cut all my access to the VPN network and mail account giving me a lame excuse that "it's procedure"...
...and I never heard from them again to the day...
Very UN-professional!
