Pros

The staff is amazing and only wants what is best for their students to be successful.

Cons

There seems to be a lot of micro-managing and control issues from administration. There needs to be some trust in the professionals that they hire can do their jobs without the issues listed in the previous sentence. We are unable to be the best versions of ourselves when we are constantly walking on egg shells and in fear of losing our positions due to being an at-will school. We have had to complete several surveys over the past few years about our school and how to make it better. Teachers completed these surveys honestly, but yet there was little change from the top down. There were times when administration said that not enough staff completed the survey. Whether that was true or not proves two things: 1. If teachers completed the surveys honestly, then the truth could not be handled. 2. If teachers did not complete the surveys, then it was in fear of them being honest.

Pros

I’ve had a very positive experience working at PA Distance Learning. Leadership genuinely cares about both students and staff, creating a supportive environment. The flexibility offered here is valuable, especially given the nature of cyber education. Communication across departments is typically clear, and colleagues are helpful and approachable. Work-life balance is respected, and I feel my contributions are recognized.

Cons

As with any job, some areas could improve slightly, but overall, it’s a great place to work, and I’d recommend it to others looking into education or remote positions.
