In the past year, the finance team has seen three different CFOs, and it's clear that the constant changes and lack of stability are taking a toll. Out of a team of nine, seven employees left within just a few months, unable to cope with the unrealistic demands and complete lack of communication from the new leadership brought in by the PE firm. The new CFO and finance director, who were started without warning to the team, have isolated themselves from the rest of the team, creating a toxic environment where collaboration and transparency are nonexistent.
To make matters worse, the finance director has been plagiarizing work from other team members, further eroding trust and morale. This culture of isolation and dishonesty is unsustainable and is driving talented people away from the organisation.
In addition to the previous issues, the company has been without a CEO for over a year, further contributing to the instability and lack of direction. Without strong leadership at the top, the finance team and the entire organisation, is struggling to navigate through these challenges. The absence of a CEO has only intensified the sense of uncertainty and disconnection within the company.
