Pros
Decent pay and benefits. Many of the line staff, such as attorneys and investigators, are solid people just trying to do their jobs and survive the heavy caseloads.
Cons
The public defender himself, Martin, and upper management in both the main public defender’s office and the Alternate Defender have terribly mismanaged this office. They have played office politics by harassing employees, playing favorites, refusing to promote hard working people in favor of people who are in their club. In the last couple of years, they have been sued by two different investigators and have received various EEO complaints from investigators and attorneys.
