Pros

There are a lot of great resources internally if you have questions. PTO and work from home. You will learn a lot about security very quickly. It also looks good on a resume.

Cons

I was given false expectations when I was hired of a wonderful company with then opportunity for growth everywhere. I didn’t know that growth was from everyone getting fired Or quitting. I came from a customer environment with no sales experience but I was placed with 3 new account managers with no pipeline and was asked to help them grow. Time and time I asked for advice but truly crickets. This company is full of backstabbing. Do not trust anyone with your doubts on your job . My manager was the most horrible I’ve had. I was given Unrealistic goals and expectations on training. Everyone I was hired with has been fired for job performance or quit due to frustration. If you are out of a job, You can probably be a great worker and last at Optiv for a little over a year while you are looking for another job. There is a reason why they keep getting bad reviews on Glassdoor. BTW this is the type of company that would force their current employees to give good Glassdoor reviews. Optiv is like the fast food of the security space. It is an horrible stepping stone to a better job.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Supportive Management Depending on who you get Good work life balance as long as you don't take the job with you after hours Work from Home Hands on Training - could still use improvement Annual pay increase

Cons

2 layoffs in a year when they keps saying everything was fine.... Laying off core contributors so now everyone who is left is doing the work of 2-3 people and not being compensated accordingly Only way to get a worth while pay increase is to move up in the company the annual increases are not inline with inflation or cost of living
