Pros

Remote work is an option Health / Dental / Vision Insurance Company provided equipment

Cons

Poor documentation / SOP's resulting in team member's doing things their own way, or word of mouth instructions Poor hand-off procedures to other departments Unrealistic expectations, upper management shoots for above best in class metrics resulting in employee fatigue and burnout Poor career advancement opportunities unless you are local to their Maryland office Pay is on the lower to middle end of the national band, but expectations are top tier talent Employee tenure in support is only 2-3 years on average Support team constantly handling items outside of their purview Company preaches about culture openly, but constantly prioritizes profit over employee satisfaction They run an extremely "lean" support team, and do not intend to staff to comfortable levels. All staff required to be utilized 90% or more of their time. Upper management has free reign, discussions with HR about upper managements behavior did not result in any tangible or noticeable actions being taken

Pros

Some solid people there, Vice President of HR seems to actually care about the people there.

Cons

Really went downhill within the last year, management preached that there would be no change with the Canyon Point Acquisition - that was until a mass number of employees lost there job. I wish optimal was back to its prior self, as it really did feel like a place I was proud to work at prior to the acquisition.
