Pros

OpFocus has been a great place to work with so far, and it's been a relatively big changes for me in terms of industry, and culture of a work place, as we are mainly remote. I will list off some points to get a good idea of pros, from my perspective. 1) Great projects/clients to work with, and this goes in well with the Sales team, I am very grateful for their efforts in finding the organization great opportunities for us. 2) The work itself is very rewarding, on the projects I have been working on, I am noticing a variety of work that is challenging, and allows me to use my skills and abilities to it's fullest. 3) Immediate manager is excellent, and the rest of the management team also seems to knowledgeable, caring, talented, strong work ethic, as well as being empathetic. 4) Good compensation, seems to be on par with industry average overall (again just speaking on my behalf). 5) Working from home/remote (pro and con); the pro to this is being able to have more flexible work hours, ensuring you are available during your clients primary hours. 6) Unlimited vacation; I believe this is working well for OpFocus, I've been thinking on how this can be used for most organizations, as vacations can be stressful, especially when you are given a limited amount such as 2 or 3 weeks. I believe in the most in people, and I appreciate it when an organization's values align with mine. We are adults and can be responsible to put in our 100% effort, as well as enjoy our own time off and take is as needed. OpFocus is definitely a McGregor Theory Y type of organization/leadership team. 7) A LOT of potential for growth. I mean this in terms of business prosperity, individuals, and collectively as a team. We are a talented team of individuals, and I genuinely believe we can be an extremely high performing team in the future. We have talented, as well as hard working individuals who are self learners and happy to help their team members. Being in the SaaS space as a consulting firm gives us so much opportunity to grow and show the value we can add to businesses by leveraging Salesforce and other brilliant tools/capabilities. Are potential will come down to how badly our executive team wants to grow, and finding people who believe as well. I am looking forward to seeing where David & Astrid lead the business and all of us. Overall I am quite impressed with OpFocus, and I would like us to work on being more collaborative, and build a stronger bond and foundation with one another. I don't expect myself nor anyone else to be on par as a business owner with David, however, it is on the leadership team to actively get to know each of us, and what makes us tick. What drives, us, from a personal growth perspective, family, life, and other areas. We are still quite small, and I know that the time can be made to take some time to get to know your employees. I implore you to go the extra mile if you wish to be unique and be the best you can be.

Cons

My positive list was quite extensive, and this will be much shorter, as I do not believe there are many cons, from my perspective. 1) Lack of a bond with the team. As someone who enjoys being positive, and bringing the best out of people, I love working with a team that is engaging and collaborative. I have noticed that many people take a bit of time to reach out to one another, and it seems focused on the task/project at hand. 2) Not many options to work with team members in person, and many people seem to be video chat shy. As a remote team, this point is synonymous with the above, we need to use tools to help us be more engaged to one another. Let's use the tools we have and work together, as it will only benefit all of us! 3) No RRSP contributions for Canadian residents (Have more options aside from salary). 4) Overall organization of how we manage our work on projects seems to be not as effective/efficient as I believe it could be. My background is Operations management and I am a big techhy and seeing some of the ways we manage our work is not ideal. I believe we can manage our projects more effectively from a PM side, as well as individuals who are working on changes (I will just send my feedback directly to you! :)) 5) Can be tricky managing priorities and exceptions of multiple projects. If there could be a little more feedback on best practices, and figuring this out as a team, I believe we can make better use of our time.
