I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your time with the company more. We always strive to make whatever adjustments we can to ensure staff working here enjoy life at One IT.
Unfortunately, due to Covid lockdowns and various staff concerns over gatherings, there were not a lot of chances for social events over the last year and a half of your time with us.
This was a very difficult and stressful time for us all.
Every year we have a fully expenses paid company Christmas night out and we aim to take staff on events at least once a year. If we get to the pub as a group the company will usually buy a round too.
With Covid, this was not possible during that period.
Most of your points have been addressed and improved since working life has begun returning to normal, we have also provided all staff with a pay increase regardless of position and other promotions solely for the cost of living crisis too.
Overtime has also been reworked – any extra time spent completing tasks is offered back to staff as time in lieu, and at management discretion for larger works this is also sometimes paid instead.
Regarding training, we have always been more than happy to offer any training the employee thinks they would benefit from, on our time at our cost. This is discussed at every employment review. We have had some staff take advantage of this over the years to work towards real qualifications, but with us being a small team and everyone getting involved in a bit of everything, we prefer an internal, hands on approach to walking staff through how to tackle problems from start to finish.
The internal CCTV is not generally used for staff monitoring, but has been invaluable for tracking items going missing and where they have been placed / what has been done with them.
