Pros

Okta is solving a hard problem. There are many other companies in this space that are not as big and as successful as Okta. So its fun to work on that problem and helping define the market. Everyone is smart, helpful, has a great growth culture/mindset. If you are early/late in your career, you will learn a lot and add a great bit to your resume. The co-founders (Todd and Freddy) are incredible and genuine leaders. They are a great manifestation of "lead by example."

Cons

Depending on the department, it can be pretty top heavy with a ton of management hierarchy. This really does suck. I think there are intentions to be transparent but it's poorly handled. There are also many people managers who are first-time managers because of how fast Okta grew - they are also learning this as they go and sometimes it doesn't work out too well.

Pros

A dynamic, fast-paced environment driven by top-tier talent and a deeply collaborative culture. The company successfully combines a high-growth startup mindset with agile execution, fostering continuous innovation and cross-functional support.

Cons

Like many publicly traded SaaS companies, Okta has aggressive revenue targets. Employees in sales, account management, and customer success frequently note that quotas are demanding, territories can change unexpectedly during annual restructuring, and pressure to expand accounts can lead to burnout.

Pros

Great Benefits. Fantastic product. Company is scaling (or at least trying to).

Cons

Management and company culture has grown toxic. Extremely political and dramatic. Specifically in sales, marketing, and the C-Suite. I wouldn’t recommend joining okta unless you are some type of director or above and also remote. SF just RTO’d and it’s been miserable.
