Pros
- Everyone is incredibly smart, talented, funny, and dedicated to making a great product. - Interesting problems, and space. - People care about the people they work with and the people using the product. - Good pay, and perks (if you care about happy hours and fancy yogurt). - Everyone is open to experimentation. - For the most part, the company is aware of its flaws. Which is good.
Cons
The company has experienced a lot of big transitions over the years, and because of that: - OkCupid is still figuring out what it should be. I do think it will get there, but OkC lost their way with the arrival of swipe-focused competitors. - It's still working on developing a solid product process. This is frustrating at times, but also an opportunity. It's improved since I started. - A lot of people are aware of the diversity problem. It's inclusive, but it won't necessarily appear that way looking around.
