I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OkCupid in Dec 2019
Interview
All interviews were remote. 1st interview was with the recruiter. 2nd interview was with a Support manager/lead. I was made uncomfortable by some questions asked about my personal beliefs in (what should have been) a professional job interview. Despite being told my experience and location were both sufficient and desired, I was rejected after the 2nd very uncomfortable interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First, the interview started off by asking about my experience. Q: "How many tickets, on average, did you take on each day at your past job?" Q: "What are your strengths/weaknesses?" Then, they interjected completely inappropriate questions about my personal opinions and beliefs. To be clear, the topics themselves aren't a problem to discuss, it's the fact that they came up so abruptly in a professional interview about a Billing Support role that threw me for a loop and turned me off completely. It's simply not professional to ask these questions in a 2nd round interview. Q: "What do you think of the Alt-Right movement?" Q: "How do you believe Trans people are being persecuted?"
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at OkCupid
Interview
Coding interview: LC Medium Similar to the following problem: "Given Employee-Manager pair in HashMap and a manager, print all employees managed by the given manager." System Design Interview: A non-distributed API design problem involving designing a chess API Second Coding Interview: Given Go code on an IDE, implement functionality, or fix a bug. Easier than the first one. Just know your Go. I highly recommend you do not interview with OkCupid. The company is toxic and is about to go out of business. The company is an afterthought in Match Group announcements.
I had three interviews for this position before rejection. The second and third round interview could certainly been combined, but overall nice conversation with both HR and the hiring manager.
