It's a good team, a very good option for a part-time job. - Video Teacher OKpanda Employee Review

Pros

You work from home, you choose the time, the days. There's a minimal amount of work done outside of classes. Communication is great, it's not rocket science.

Cons

None. Some people might disagree with me, but I think that all these people don't really get what an online, work-from-home job really is. I've seen come comments about having to do some quizzes, which are very easy if you actually know how to read. The training is unpaid, but it takes no more than a day if you are serious about working here.

Pros

When I first started working with them I didn't have many bookings and was just about to quit, when they scheduled a call with me and offered several different ways which could help me improve my booking rate. The team leads are always there to help and provide support, but they do require you go through the policies and everything before you start. Other teachers who work there are also great - most of them are willing to share their experiences and advice with you and every month, there is a ceremony organized where they compliment their teacher's work. After working at the company for a year, I was offered a raise (but I understand the company has a new owner now who invests more in the VTs) from $3.25 to $4 for 25 minutes. The platform they use is great and the lesson materials are prepared for each lesson, you don't have to prepare anything extra because the materials are just enough and the students seem to enjoy them.

Cons

They have this instructor manual with all the requirements and policies you need to know. This explains how the platform works, how you get paid, what happens when you cancel lessons, etc. But I guess you really need to know this if you intend to teach here.
