You learn life long lessons in the autopsy room about the fragility of life and basic laboratory skills. Not to mention working with some incredible doctors who's enthusiasm is contagious. You learn post mortem surgical skills that you can't learn anywhere else.
Cons
Training can be very "trial by fire" depending on who trains you. Lots of long hours and extreme physical strain. A union that isn't very helpful. Lots of gossip and employees attempting to stab each other in the back to get ahead.
