Pros
Contract staff are generally VERY capable, caring and collaborative. Their recruiting strategies are compelling (see this also labeled below as a con) They are very civic focused and put the company voice and $$ to support worthy community causes. Great summer get togethers and Year end parties to gather all regional staff for a fun event.
Cons
Their ability to deliver as promised in the recruiting process. They will tell you just about anything to get you on board. Truly bait and switch. Salaries are abysmal which they counter with promises they can't deliver in the recruiting process. Nepotism abounds both family and culture. HR is completely disconnected from their contract staff on the ground. No formal on-boarding other than the standard "here are your benefits, here's how you fill out your timecard, here's your 401k vesting schedule, etc. It's not like they don't have the process or procedure , they just don't have the process for sharing it comprehensively. Therefore the employee must often learn by trial and error.
