Pros

Novacap is a truly exceptional workplace. If you’re looking for a firm where you can grow quickly, work with extraordinary people, be challenged, and feel supported, this is the kind of organization where you can build a career, not just a job.

Cons

Like any other company, there are always areas that can be improved, but what truly sets Novacap apart is how close management stays to their teams. Leadership listens, engages directly, and responds, often very quickly, when adjustments are needed. Their willingness to take action and continuously refine processes makes a real difference in day-to-day work and reinforces the sense that everyone is valued and supported.

Pros

Never wrote a Glassdoor review before, but Novacap made me do it. The culture here is genuinely great, focused on people, performance, and shared success. The Investment Committees are unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere: everyone, regardless of seniority or whether they’re on the investment or operations side, actively participates in every meeting. It’s an incredible learning environment for younger team members. Compensation is strong, the firm’s performance has been fantastic for over 40 years, and it continues to grow significantly. Couldn’t ask for more, this truly is the place to be!

Cons

About half of the firm is based in Montreal, Quebec, where there’s a strong French-speaking culture. Most meetings are held in English, but occasional side conversations or jokes happen in French, which can be hard to follow if you only speak English. Not a big deal at all, just something to be aware of.

Pros

1. Strong and approachable leadership that provides clear direction and support. 2. Energetic, young, and dynamic culture with people eager to grow and collaborate. 3. Exceptional IT team: efficient, proactive, and present across every part of the business. 4. Cybersecurity posture is absolutely top-tier: cutting-edge tools, strong frameworks and a true culture of security.

Cons

1. My role was fully remote, which made it harder to experience the company culture to its fullest. 2. There’s a strong emphasis on in-person presence, so being fully remote can sometimes make you feel a bit on the outside. 3. Extremely fast-paced environment: great for growth, but can feel intense during busy periods. 4. Because teams move quickly, communication and priorities can sometimes shift without much notice. 5. Resources are solid but not infinite: you sometimes need to be scrappy and self-sufficient.
