Pros
Professional environment, friendly people
Cons
The nurse residency program for new grads is a frustrating experience. When I graduated from nursing school and passed the boards I was hopeful that my employer would take my credentials seriously. Instead I find myself in drawn out, repetive classes teaching me the same things I learned in nursing school. The nurse residency program for new grads is a frustrating experience. More than half the class is trying their best not to fall asleep during these classes because we already know the information. Teach us about Northside policies and let us go back to our units to get more hands on experience with preceptors. It's a waste of their money and time.
