Pros

(IT Engineering) Northside isn't afraid to spend money on tech. You'll have a great opportunity to get involved with hardware. They can be a bit slow on the adoption of the bleeding edge improvements, but things like hardware refreshes, support and maintenance contracts are never a worry. The pay is average, but the health benefits and pension (if you can make it 5 years) are nice.

Cons

(IT Engineering) Despite the awards and accolades, this is no longer one of Atlanta's "best places to work" speaking from an IT engineering perspective. At one time prior to late 2019 I would have argued it really was. As of Jan 1 2020 a completely new management structure has been implemented from the low level team leads all the way to the CIO. With it, came a shift in culture and management styles. Micromanagement, a hostile, un-trusting work environment, the classic "boys club" mentality at the top and a general aura of "engineers are expendable and a dime dozen" seem like the new norm. I'll stress again that prior to 2020 I would have recommended IT at Northside to anyone. As an engineer, your opinions will no longer be heard, you will not be included in high level technology decision making, and you will spend more of your time filling out productivity spreadsheets than you will actually building or fixing.

Pros

I always felt like I was part of a team. Management is great.

Cons

The only con for me was that it was a far drive from my house.

Pros

I have been privileged to work for Northside Hospital for the past five years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. During my tenure, I have benefited from the organization's commitment to employee growth through its annual internal promotion policy, which has allowed me to advance within my current department. One of the aspects I value most is Northside's support for work-life balance and professional development. While working here, I was able to begin my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the ground up and am on track to graduate in December 2026. The flexibility and encouragement provided by the organization have played a significant role in helping me pursue my educational goals while continuing to contribute as an employee. I was a full-time employee for most of my career with the organization and recently transitioned to part-time status to accommodate the increased demands of my nursing program. The support and understanding shown by management throughout this process have reinforced my appreciation for the company's employee-centered culture. I am grateful for the opportunities, professional growth, and support I have received over the past five years.

Cons

None that I can think of right now
