Pros

The pay is great for a new graduate The benefits are great

Cons

Shifts are not as advertised during the recruiting process, and it is very hard to get them changed. The residency program is very demanding and stressful, with the lengthy programs. if you are not happy in a department, it is not as easy as they make it seem to change departments. A lot of hazing and bullying will be noticed by management, but not handled appropriately. Excuses will be given to the aggressor.

Pros

-some of the nurses on the floor were nice -gets your foot in the door with a hospital as a student -supportive management on the floor i was hired on

Cons

-low pay for what you put up with -was mainly working as a patient care tech as opposed to a nurse extern -nurses on the med/surg floors weren’t very nice and willing to help -don’t feel like i got enough training -the pre shift anxiety was horrendous
