      Low pay in accordance with industry-standards, lack of professional development assistance, star performers are overloaded with work while poor performers are allowed to remain stagnant.

      Pros

      Serving the public, books, for the most part creative & caring staff, decent compensation & benefits

      Cons

      Terrible red tape, it takes forever to get things done. You can get very lucky with management and most of the staff are truly wonderful, fun, hardworking people, but it's a roll of the dice. There are some truly inept and/or downright cruel people.
