Pros
- The team is relatively young so culturally it's quite progressive. Despite its flaws, the environment is still anchored on a formal, modern structure that is functional.
- Many employees are passionate, earnest, hard working creatives who are easy to work with.
- Bureaucracy relatively not too annoying thanks to the 'chill' working culture. Also makes it easy to collaborate with anyone regardless of hierarchies.
- OK benefits for full time employees. Vision, private insurance. Spouses and kids covered too.
- Used to employ a WFA/WFH policy (which was very convenient), but then transitioned into a hybrid system before going fully WFO, after the latest restructuring where major policies are dictated by the parent company.
- Nice office at the center of Jakarta. But not having to commute there would still be preferable, because Jakarta.
Cons
- Trust issues toward high level management, lack of clarity and transparency over goals and decision making. Several lay-off phases have happened since 2021, some through unwise approaches which hopefully have changed for the better over time.
- Non-standardized recruitment benchmarks; getting in is relatively 'easy' or too dependent on the user as opposed to the system, and most users exercised very abstract and personal standards for candidates. This results in a team composition that is considerably uneven in quality, both technically and interpersonally.
- Lack of standardized technical SOP for the entire company in general.
