Pros

you'll meet amazing people. you'll get to work on some real life issues millions of users experience. hopefully you can buy in to the ND value to be kind and grow local community.

Cons

(1) CEO's delivery of Return to Office, the policy I agree with, was so awful, I never want to work in the same company with Sarah. Dismissive, disrespectful, and more importantly it highlights how she has been and will be acting as a board member INSTEAD of acting like a CEO, or at least an inspirational person. (2) The senior (prod Dev) leadership cannot articulate the direction of the product. Pretty common for a bigger company, but ND is only 350 people in prod Dev. Cherry on top: years ago, when mentioned that I work at ND I got " what is Nextdoor"... Awkward. Nowadays, I get "just uninstalled that app"... Embarrassing. I'll be out very soon.

Pros

Glassdoor is a genuinely mission-driven company, and it feels good recruiting for a product that helps people make better career decisions. The brand is strong, so candidates are usually excited to engage. The recruiting team was supportive and collaborative, with smart people who actually want to help each other succeed. You get exposure to a wide range of roles and strong partnerships with hiring managers. Tools, data, and processes are solid, and work-life balance is better than most tech companies. Benefits and DEI focus are also strong.

Cons

Things can feel slow and process-heavy, with lots of approvals and shifting priorities. Recruiting is very metrics-driven, which can sometimes feel more like activity tracking than true talent strategy. Career growth for recruiters is somewhat limited.
