Pros

Neiman Marcus allows you to provide exemplary customer experience in most cases.

Cons

It doesn’t matter how much you reproduce or how long you’ve been employed, everyone is disposable. Neimans has lowered the pay for many of the employees (in certain departments) several times in recent years. You are also told you will never get a raise. Managers can’t even get you an increase. You are constantly graded on performance, attendance, and every minute detail. If you miss your goal one quarter, you go on probation. If you ever miss it again you are out. They don’t even consider life crisis- which at some point happen to everyone. Merchandise is extremely limited. Stores are like a showroom but products most often need to be ordered for the customer. The systems are a mess. Antiquated operations, failing new systems. That said, you can be perfect on paper, achieve goals, have a fantastic clientele and you are still disposable. I expect (sadly) Neimans to be gone in 5 years. The company is extremely poorly run from the CEO on down the line. Store Management is the better of the key players but it’s is not the Neiman Marcus it’s known to be.

Pros

* If you have an amazing team and management the day goes by fast. * Commission. * Easy to rely on foot traffic to meet goals. * If you ask for growth, they set thing ups that align with what you want, you just need to ask.

Cons

* If its slow, its SLOW. * There can be drama, it just depends on the department you're in.

Pros

Employee discount and free samples

Cons

A toxic environment where sales are almost zero because vendors are pulling their product off the shelf because their bills aren’t getting paid. They’re in the middle of coming out of a bankruptcy , if a client does come in, we usually don’t have the product to sell them ,only lines who are partially thriving is fragrance ! The hours are terrible. You get off work at nine and you’re expected to be back at 9:30 AM.
