Pros

-Wonderful engineers, stress of the company brought employees together. -Amazing opportunity to work on a robotic product. -Some teams have work-life balance. -Great benefits, ok salary, and plenty of accrued PTO (if you ever feel like you can use it)

Cons

-As previous reviews state, Vorwerk is keeping this company afloat. Deadlines kept getting pushed back, which resulted in cutting essential features to the product in order to launch. The new product barely meets the requirements of the standard set by our previous models. -Many employees were forced to go in-office during COVID. -No trust in employees to do what they were hired for. New upper management expects everyone to be yes-men. -Many accounts of employee abuse by engineering managers.

Neato Robotics Response

We appreciate your review, and for noting both the pros like our dedicated team of engineers. We’re striving to develop the most comprehensive robotic vacuums available to consumers and as a result have faced some setbacks as you mentioned. However, because of this we’re more confident than ever in the products we’re launching. We also wanted to comment on your mention of employee abuse as this is very alarming to us and something we do not tolerate at Neato. We’ve recently held multiple employee/manager feedback sessions and focus groups for employee to voice their suggestion and opinion openly to create a more open and communicative culture that showcases not only trust in our employees but also a more open flow of communication. - Neato Team

Pros

Not far from the Dumbarton bridge. 5-10 minutes of walking. Surely a fatal dive. Their robot cleaned very well. It actually out cleaned every other robot until management took design cues from marketing. “We can’t sell a robot without a side brush”. It turns out that they can’t sell robots with side brushes either.

Cons

No shuttle service specifically to Dumbarton bridge. Supervisors would use vulgarity and bullying to try to motivate engineers if not in favor. There was no way the help leadership, and the company, because no advice was welcome from many of the employees. It was clear this was a hostile place to work by the end of the second week. I spent my entire time there filling out applications each time I took a bathroom break. Criticism about petty matters was common. This place hemorrhaged a lot of people, most pretty good people.
