Cons
Firstly, the 5 star review was clearly written by the directors because no one ever lasts more than 3 weeks at this place. Neal Consulting is the most bizarre company I have ever had the displeasure of working for. It is run by a husband and wife team from what looks like their bedroom and the BDM role is to cold call 130 leads a day. Every day. They call the role a BDM role but it’s nothing of the sort - you are a home based call centre cold calling machine and nothing else. They advertise a really attractive basic salary but they can do this because they only keep staff on for 3 weeks! You work on 2 or 3 clients whose businesses are pretty much set up by semi retired people who’ve bought a licence for a bit of software, set up a 1 man band but don’t have a clue how to sell it, so it’s our job to set up sales appointments on their behalf. The only training you ever receive is a 1 hour interview video between the client and the directors. You are then expected to source your own leads, which if you’re calling 130 leads a day, is a lot of work in itself. Your only lead source is LinkedIn and you are expected to pay, out of your own pocket, for sales navigator so that you can pull enough leads into the system. After 3 weeks your employment is terminated with no notice whatsoever and I really have no idea why they work like this - I can only imagine it’s so they can use our warmed up leads without paying us. The culture felt utterly bizarre like it was operating outside the law or just doing everything in a dodgy way. Good people have left good jobs to join this bunch of cowboys, only to be thrown out after 3 weeks. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.
