Pros
I met some great people over the years at the company. They have all since left. There are no pros left for working here.
Cons
NWN Carousel is quite possibly the most toxic company to work for in the IT industry. Things were not great before the NWN Carousel buyout (NWN bought Carousel and let them take them over). Management has become progressively worse. Dozens upon dozens of engineers have either quit or were let go, and nobody was hired to replace them. Instead, the work was piled upon existing engineers, and we would have to work 90-100 hours per week, and if we didn’t, we were threatened with termination, and false warnings and write ups. They have been steadily decreasing the bonuses for the engineers who actually do the work, but the sales team and the “executives” seem to all be doing just fine. Raises were not given for periods of 3 years or more. When I complained about the horrid treatment I was receiving from the Customer Experience Managers and the Network Operations Center, they attempted to write me up, and when I pushed back, I was suspended with pay and never told why, and then fired two weeks later, again, without ever being told why. People have literally died working at this company from conditions that were exacerbated by the stress and extreme hours and demands placed upon the employees. If you’re a salesperson, this is probably going to be the best place ever for you to work. If you are an engineer who actually performs the work, run at an Usain Bolt like pace away from this place. Chernobyl is less toxic than this environment. I have no idea where these “best places to work” awards are coming from, but they clearly aren’t speaking to a single engineer that works there. Upper management and the executive team does nothing but lie to ensure that you complete their important projects. Then you are of no further use to them.
