Pros
Interesting industry business working with smart and great coworkers. Small understaffed company is great for gaining experience since most non-management employees are doing the work of several people and positions.
Cons
It is a family run business, so there are some entire divisions and departments being managed by unqualified and inexperienced people. Poor management translates to poor decisions and inefficiency. Upper management believes that the remedy is more layers of management, resulting in a very top-heavy company that is in a constant state of crisis to deliver. Unfortunately, the sense of entitlement that the owners have infects many other members of management. This results in an exhaustive amount of time and effort spent placating several managers and groups instead of doing what is best for the business. NORDAM has zero loyalty to its employees and does not value or recognize experience or work ethic. Salary increases are either skipped or minimal and typically do not keep pace with the cost of living. It was easier to leave the company to work for a competitor or business partner and then come back after negotiating appropriate compensation than it was to get a raise in salary.
