Pros
If you are willing to leave your morals behind or use this as a stepping stone there is opportunity to earn a relatively healthy income and move onto better employment opportunities else where.
Cons
The company was founded by a landfill falconer who although has experience with birds of prey has very little experience of any other forms of pest control. The company was then franchised to give a national presence (although only in largely populated areas). The franchisees who mainly bought in are all 40+ and have come from other industries i.e. banking, legal and H&S and have no knowledge or experience within the industry. The franchisees all undertook a weeks in house falconry training and attended BPCA level 2 training. After this they all think they are experts in the field of bird and pest control and dismiss the knowledge and experience of the few employees who have long standing careers in the industry. No training has been rolled out to front line staff and there is no program in place to train / educate them. In fact the MD is highly reluctant to invest in training due to the fear of staff leaving soon after. NBC unofficial policy is to hire unqualified and inexperienced staff on a low rate of pay with the promise of training to come, which never materializes. Operational staff are given minimal resources and equipment to under take work and in most cases do not have the proper tools or materials to complete jobs properly. Staff are highly monitored and pushed to achieve a high revenue per day with minimal support from management.
