Pros

Personally, I had an awesome manger who leads by example. I've was exposed to new technology and was been given the keys to kingdom of growing opportunity. My hours were flexible and was an asset to the GPC team. Benefits are on par with any other Fotune X company. Training programs for career advancement are promoted. Again personally my manager strived for an equal work/life balance.

Cons

There still isn't an official remote/work-from-home policy. My guess is the C-level executives don't trust their employees. Salaries are below the national average for most, if not all, technology positions. Depending on the team and manager, your employment experince for GPC can be a nightmare. Some managers severely micro-manage their teams and clock-count every second they're in or out of the office. There's also a bit of red tape getting the tools needed to complete job tasks, even if its in the best interest of the company. Remember the training I mentioned in the Pro's? Actually getting a signature for said training is next to impossible.

Pros

At the time of writing, I have worked for Napa for 9 years. I can say with a great deal of experience that the fellow employees will make your day. Easy people to work with all around. Something about the shared struggle of working for NAPA will really bring a group of folks together. Customers who come into a NAPA come for a reason. I find this to be a much different experience from other auto parts stores. Customers know what they are talking about, and that makes the job all the easier. Hours are consistent almost to a fault, but you will ceratily get at least your 40 hours.

Cons

When I first started with NAPA, they genuinely cared about their employees(gift cards on bday, anniversary lunch, anniversary gift, holiday bonuses, company-wide holiday parties). That is all gone. All management you will have personal contact with has ZERO authority to do ANYTHING. Do not expect a merit-based raise, or even a yearly raise(no raises in 2 years despite $2.3B in net profit for 2025). It seems to take an act of god to fire employees who literally do not do their job. DO NOT CLIMB THE LADDER. The higher you get in this company, the more you will regret it.
