Pros

Job security: It would take a lot to get fired from this company Benefits: Decent retirement and benefits program Employee discount: You can purchase auto parts for roughly 50% off depending on the product

Cons

Stale culture: I worked at headquarters and most of the people were 15-20 years older than me. There was no camaraderie. The environment was very stuffy. Low salary: Relative to market, very low salaries. Bonus also only came once in three years for my group. Limited growth opportunity: Everything moves slow. The company doesn't make big moves and people stay a long time. This leads to limited opportunities internally. Poor review structure: I would assume the reviews lead to some form of direct pay increases, because everyone gets horrible reviews. We were graded in multiple categories on a scale of 1-5. I don't know if I ever got a 5 in anything meaningful, and averaged less than 3 overall. I spoke with others who had worked there a long time and they said they always get less than 3 as well. I consider less than 3/5 to be an unsatisfactory employee.

Pros

The hours are great compared to Autozone or O’reilly, the pay is much better compared to other auto parts retailers too. Anyone who complains about Napa Auot Parts doesn’t know what it’s like to work for their competitors. Unless you work for independent Napas I know their pay is different from corporate but I feel like this company actually cares about their employees and treats them fairly in regards to pay, and working here is much better and has a better work life balance compared to other retailers which is a plus. I can see myself making this a career and staying long term I love my job and what I do.

Cons

Tams sucks and catalog sucks, thats literally my only complaint about this company they need to upgrade the whole system and the way they do inventory and everything with regards to technology.

Pros

At the time of writing, I have worked for Napa for 9 years. I can say with a great deal of experience that the fellow employees will make your day. Easy people to work with all around. Something about the shared struggle of working for NAPA will really bring a group of folks together. Customers who come into a NAPA come for a reason. I find this to be a much different experience from other auto parts stores. Customers know what they are talking about, and that makes the job all the easier. Hours are consistent almost to a fault, but you will ceratily get at least your 40 hours.

Cons

When I first started with NAPA, they genuinely cared about their employees(gift cards on bday, anniversary lunch, anniversary gift, holiday bonuses, company-wide holiday parties). That is all gone. All management you will have personal contact with has ZERO authority to do ANYTHING. Do not expect a merit-based raise, or even a yearly raise(no raises in 2 years despite $2.3B in net profit for 2025). It seems to take an act of god to fire employees who literally do not do their job. DO NOT CLIMB THE LADDER. The higher you get in this company, the more you will regret it.
